Our family-run business is new to the area and was founded in 2024 by the owner and operator, Richard Drane. Richard is a former law enforcement officer of nearly 10 years, having served the residents of Okaloosa County with the Sheriff's Office for nearly 5 years, then with the Florida Highway Patrol for another 5 years. While serving with FHP, Richard became a drone operator for the agency. During this time, Richard learned the ins and outs of operating drones efficiently and safely, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations on drones, the use of mapping software (Pix4D) to render 3D models of crash/crime scenes, and much more. After deciding to exit law enforcement, Richard's passion for drone operations continued, which resulted in the birth of AeroTech LLC.

Richard's wife, Laurie, and two sons, Israel and Deacon, were a huge support in the start of AeroTech LLC. Laurie supports Richard's passion by caring for Israel and Deacon so Richard can focus on running the business. Laurie also helps with the design work and creates most of the merchandise for the business, like the t-shirts, hats, cups, and more!
